What is Masterclass Live?

Masterclass Live Shows:

Developing Your Style As a Photographer

I am really excited to announce a new concept for the podcast – Masterclasses Live.

I’ve been strongly committed to doing the video podcast over the last few years. I think the biggest surprise for me has been the interaction that I’ve had with the photographers who watch the show, ask questions and have been a part of the whole experience. I sometimes get frustrated by some of the limitations – a podcast is what it is – its a one way conversation with a time limit. This is not a bad thing – in fact we’ve developed quite an archive of shows that people can go back through and watch at their own convenience and learning speed. But it lacks 2 things: 1) a deeper exploration of the subject at hand and 2) viewer involvement and a way to ask questions.

I will continue to do the podcast – no need to stop a good thing. But I am going to add a series of live master classes. This is going to be huge and I am really excited. I will pick an 4-6 week block of time for each topic and each week I will give an hour long master class complete with lessons, assignments and some question/answer time.

During the weeks of the class, everyone will have access to the videos – both live and recorded (in case you miss a live class), all downloadable materials, assignments and outlines, and anything else we cover in the master class.

After the master class is finished I will archive the entire series as a new section on the website. During the master class duration, everything will be available for free. We’re going to start a subscription based system for the archived classes so if you’d like to revisit one you will have access to the archive. I haven’t determined pricing at this point, but my goal is to make it affordable.

The next class offered is going to be a multi-part series on film beginning in January 2012!
