The Sony Alpha camera system was first introduced in 2006. Konica Minolta had ended its photography operations and the assets were rolled up into Sony’s photographic division. Originally using the Minolta mount and autofocus technologies, by 2010 Sony had introduced the E-mount system of mirrorless cameras.
The first Sony camera I bought was the NEX-7. This was one of their early high-end mirrorless models and I’ve used many E-Mount cameras since then. In 2018 I started to partner with Sony on various projects and events which has given me considerable access to reviewing the cameras and lenses in their system. There is no financial transaction in our relationship – the opinions on this website are my own.
I have owned or had experience with many of the cameras and lenses listed here. My goal is to get this complete as possible eventually.
